Description
Make crispy homemade french fries quickly and easily in your air fryer. This recipe offers a healthier alternative to deep-frying with satisfying results.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch thick fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or other seasonings
Instructions
- Rinse the potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove excess starch after cutting them into fries. Pat them completely dry with a paper towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried potato fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add any optional seasonings like garlic powder or paprika if desired, ensuring all fries are evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd it. You may need to cook in batches. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and thickness of the fries.
- Transfer the crispy french fries to a serving dish. Season with additional salt if needed and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, ensure the potatoes are thoroughly dried before seasoning.
