Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in reduced apple cider, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Cover the dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
- In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
