Description
These apple snickerdoodle bars are easy to make. They combine the flavors of apple pie and snickerdoodle cookies in a bar form. This recipe is good for fall baking.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups finely diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the finely diced apples.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the dough.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results.
- Do not overmix the dough after adding the flour.
- Ensure the butter is truly softened for a smooth dough.
