Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, carrots, celery, bell pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  4. Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
