- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons blue food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, blue food coloring, and vanilla.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until smooth.
- Add vinegar and mix well.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with cream cheese frosting once cooled.
