Description

A two-layer dessert bar featuring a fudgy brownie base topped with chocolate chip cookie dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Brownie Layer:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Cookie Layer:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang. Lightly grease the parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie layer, combine melted butter and granulated sugar in a bowl. Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  3. Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  4. For the cookie layer, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough evenly over the brownie batter. Gently spread the cookie dough to cover the brownie layer.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before lifting out. Slice and serve.

Notes
