- 3/4 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in shortening using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
- Divide dough into small balls.
- Roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry each bunuelo until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Sprinkle bunuelos with cinnamon sugar.
- Serve warm.
