Description
A simple and flavorful crockpot recipe for tender chicken breast with a creamy garlic parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons cold water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove chicken from the slow cooker and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the sauce in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 15-20 minutes, or until thickened.
- Shred or slice the chicken and return it to the sauce. Stir to coat.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with mashed potatoes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley for extra color and flavor.
- For a “dump and go” option, combine all ingredients except cornstarch and water in the slow cooker before cooking.
