Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides. Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add flour to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Return meatballs to the skillet.
  7. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and sauce has thickened.
  8. Stir in parsley. Serve hot.
