Description
A recipe for making crispy BBQ chicken wings in an air fryer, perfect for game day or any occasion.
Ingredients

							Scale

 - 2 lbs chicken wings (flats and drumettes), patted very dry
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the dried wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C) and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the wings are extra crispy.
- In a large bowl, toss the hot, crispy wings with your favorite BBQ sauce until they are fully coated.
- For a sticky glaze, return the sauced wings to the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 375°F (190°C). Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Patting the wings very dry is crucial for maximum crispiness.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Watch carefully during the optional glaze step to prevent the sauce from burning.
