- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (optional, for cornstarch slurry)
- Optional garnishes: chopped green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the liquid in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Return the chicken to the slow cooker and coat with the thickened sauce.
- Serve the chicken warm, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of your chicken breasts and your slow cooker’s performance.
- Feel free to add your favorite vegetables, such as broccoli florets or carrots, during the last hour of cooking.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
