Description

Make hot chocolate in a crockpot. This recipe is for a crowd and uses milk, chocolate chips, and cocoa powder.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon milk (whole milk recommended)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Pour all the milk (whole, condensed, and evaporated) into a large crockpot (6-quart or larger).
  2. Add the chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the crockpot.
  3. Stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate chips are fully melted and the mixture is hot and smooth. Do not let it boil.
  5. Once hot, switch the crockpot to the “warm” setting to keep the hot chocolate at an ideal serving temperature.
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate shavings, or peppermint sticks.
