Description
Make hot chocolate in a crockpot. This recipe is for a crowd and uses milk, chocolate chips, and cocoa powder.

- 1 gallon milk (whole milk recommended)
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Pour all the milk (whole, condensed, and evaporated) into a large crockpot (6-quart or larger).
- Add the chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the crockpot.
- Stir everything together until well combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate chips are fully melted and the mixture is hot and smooth. Do not let it boil.
- Once hot, switch the crockpot to the “warm” setting to keep the hot chocolate at an ideal serving temperature.
- Serve with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate shavings, or peppermint sticks.
Notes
- Use a 6-quart or larger crockpot for this recipe.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even melting.
- Do not let the hot chocolate boil.
