Homemade curly fries made crispy and delicious in your air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes, scrubbed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon chili powder or onion powder

Instructions

  1. Spiralize the potatoes into curly fry shapes using a spiralizer with a thin blade. If you do not have a spiralizer, carefully cut thin strips and then twist them.
  2. Place the curly potato strands in a large bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain thoroughly and pat the potato strands very dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.
  3. Toss the dry potato strands with olive oil until lightly coated. Combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (and any other optional seasonings) in a small bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the potatoes and toss well to ensure even distribution.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the seasoned curly fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd it. You will likely need to cook them in batches. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
