Description

This Easy Blueberry Cobbler features a buttery, golden crust and juicy, sweet blueberries. It’s the perfect comforting dessert for any occasion, especially during the summer months when blueberries are at their peak. Enjoy a simple, homemade cobbler that’s quick to prepare and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh blueberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the blueberries, 3/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Gently toss and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in the milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the blueberry mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough evenly over the blueberries.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the blueberry filling is bubbly.
  9. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar in the crust.
  • If you don’t have fresh blueberries, you can use frozen blueberries. Do not thaw them before using.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the blueberries.
  • Store leftover cobbler in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
