Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups fresh blueberries
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the blueberries, 3/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Gently toss and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the blueberry mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough evenly over the blueberries.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the blueberry filling is bubbly.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar in the crust.
- If you don’t have fresh blueberries, you can use frozen blueberries. Do not thaw them before using.
- Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the blueberries.
- Store leftover cobbler in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
