 - 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
- 1 (8 ounce) package herb-seasoned stuffing mix
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, water, sage, thyme, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
- Layer the stuffing mix, celery, and onion over the chicken and soup mixture.
- Pour the chicken broth evenly over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and the stuffing is moist.
- Stir gently before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use a mix of chicken and turkey broth.
- Add a tablespoon of butter to the stuffing mix before adding the liquid for extra richness.
- You can add cooked vegetables like peas or carrots in the last hour of cooking.
