A simple and quick one-pan pasta dish with ground beef and cheese, perfect for beginner cooks or busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or small pasta, uncooked
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic during the last 3-5 minutes until softened. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, uncooked pasta, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasonings if needed.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can use water and beef bouillon instead of beef broth.
  • Onion and garlic are optional but add extra flavor.
