Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  5. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is glossy and coats the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes.
