Description

A simple and satisfying casserole featuring ground beef and potatoes, perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the thawed hash brown potatoes to the skillet and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a clove of minced garlic with the onion.
  • If you prefer a crispier topping, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and baked when ready.
