- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Add the thawed hash brown potatoes to the skillet and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a clove of minced garlic with the onion.
- If you prefer a crispier topping, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
