A simple recipe for classic homemade ranch dressing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk.
- Stir in chives, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
- For best flavor, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- You can substitute dried herbs for fresh, using 1 teaspoon dried chives and 1 teaspoon dried parsley.
- Add more buttermilk, one tablespoon at a time, for a thinner dressing.
- This dressing is delicious on salads, as a dip for vegetables, or as a sauce for chicken.
