Easy and healthy homemade sloppy joes.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve on hamburger buns.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can also add other vegetables, such as celery or carrots.
