- 1 cup warm water (105-115°F)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Italian herb seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, olive oil, and Italian herb seasoning to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it in half.
- Roll each half into a 12-inch rope.
- Twist the two ropes together and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

- For a stronger flavor, use fresh herbs instead of dried.
