Description

These Korean BBQ Meatballs are easy to make and full of flavor. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, and ginger. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and gochujang.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and let it thicken slightly, about 5 minutes.
  7. Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the saucepan with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more gochujang to the sauce.
  • Serve these meatballs with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • You can prepare the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them before baking.
