Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add the broken lasagna noodles and cook until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Stir in the ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese until melted.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
