Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the lavender syrup: Combine sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the dried lavender buds to the sugar syrup. Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on the lavender buds to extract flavor. Discard the lavender buds. Let the syrup cool completely.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices.
