Description
A simple and refreshing cucumber salad with a tangy vinegar-based dressing, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large English cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- (Optional: 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine the thinly sliced cucumbers and red onion in a large bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, granulated sugar, fresh dill, salt, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onion. Toss gently to ensure everything is evenly coated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably 1-2 hours, to allow the flavors to meld and cucumbers to release excess water.
- Before serving, stir again and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve chilled.
Notes
- Garnish with fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
- Allowing the salad to chill for at least 30 minutes enhances the flavor.
