- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Separate the onion slices into rings.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- In another bowl, whisk milk and egg.
- Place panko bread crumbs in a third bowl.
- Dip each onion ring in the flour mixture, then in the milk mixture, and finally in the panko bread crumbs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry onion rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove onion rings and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, ranch, or barbecue sauce.
