Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together shortening, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg, then stir in milk and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
