- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the red velvet cake batter.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients for the cake.
- In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients and combine with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the cheesecake filling by mixing cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Once the cake has cooled, pour the cheesecake filling over the top.
- Bake the assembled cheesecake at 325°F (160°C) for 35–40 minutes.
- Let the cheesecake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
- Cool completely at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
