 - 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour the meat mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots evenly over the meat mixture.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tots are golden brown.
Notes
- For a creamier casserole, you can add a splash of sour cream to the soup mixture.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn to the meat mixture.
- This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated. Add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
