Crispy Garlic Parmesan Smashed Brussels Sprouts

Description

A simple recipe for crispy, flavorful smashed Brussels sprouts, roasted to perfection with garlic and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add Brussels sprouts and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain well.
  3. Place cooked Brussels sprouts on the prepared baking sheet. Gently smash each sprout with the bottom of a glass or a potato masher until flattened but intact.
  4. Drizzle smashed Brussels sprouts with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until deeply golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese during the last 5-7 minutes of baking, if using.
  6. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, if desired.

  • For a vegan option, omit the Parmesan cheese.
