 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 3/4 cup milk
 - 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
 - In a large bowl, combine plums, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Toss to coat.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
 - Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined. Do not overmix.
 - Pour batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
 - Spoon plum mixture evenly over the batter.
 - Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and fruit is tender.
 - Let cool slightly before serving.
