- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- In a separate bowl, mix tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese.
- Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or with your favorite pasta for a main course.
Notes
- For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- You can also pan-fry or bake these meatballs in a skillet with your favorite sauce.
- These meatballs freeze well. Let them cool completely before freezing in an airtight container.
