Description

These easy-to-make savory rolls feature a delicious filling of spinach, feta, and Parmesan cheese, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry. They are perfect as an appetizer or a light snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed and squeezed dry spinach, feta cheese, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well to combine.
  3. Unfold one sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Spread half of the spinach mixture evenly over the entire surface of the pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the pastry sheet into a log. Moisten the edge with a little water and press to seal.
  5. Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining spinach mixture.
  6. Place the spinach rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure the spinach is thoroughly squeezed dry to prevent a soggy pastry.
  • You can prepare the spinach mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
  • These rolls are best served warm, but they can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
