Description
These easy-to-make savory rolls feature a delicious filling of spinach, feta, and Parmesan cheese, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry. They are perfect as an appetizer or a light snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the thawed and squeezed dry spinach, feta cheese, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well to combine.
- Unfold one sheet of puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Spread half of the spinach mixture evenly over the entire surface of the pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the pastry sheet into a log. Moisten the edge with a little water and press to seal.
- Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining spinach mixture.
- Place the spinach rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the spinach is thoroughly squeezed dry to prevent a soggy pastry.
- You can prepare the spinach mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
- These rolls are best served warm, but they can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
