A recipe for fudgy and chewy brookies, a combination of brownies and cookies.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 recipe for your favorite chewy chocolate chip cookie dough
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Crumble the cookie dough over the brownie batter.
- Spread the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For extra fudgy brookies, underbake slightly.
- You can use your favorite store-bought cookie dough if you are short on time.
- Chill the cookie dough before crumbling for easier handling.
