Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Pour in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Spoon the turkey mixture onto hamburger buns and serve immediately.
