Description

Savor tender grilled beef and juicy shrimp skewered on a stick, marinated in a zesty soy-garlic glaze for a hearty American-style kebab masterpiece.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup soy sauce (use gluten-free tamari if required)
2 tablespoons olive oil (use avocado oil as substitute)
2 tablespoons lemon juice (use lime juice if preferred)
2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

1. Pat the beef cubes and shrimp dry with paper towels.
2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
3. Add beef and shrimp to the marinade, stirring to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Thread beef and shrimp onto skewers, alternating as desired.
5. Brush skewers with any remaining marinade.
6. Grill kabobs 8-12 minutes, rotating occasionally until beef is seared and shrimp are pink and opaque. No more than 15 minutes total.
7. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For optimal tenderness, use beef tenderloin if available.
Marinate up to 2 hours for extra flavor.
Allow skewers to come to room temperature 10 minutes before grilling for even cooking.
Pair with grilled vegetables (like bell peppers and onions) for a complete kebab platter.
